In the next post, I will explain much more about Sujok and how it actually works, but given the huge amount of geomagnetic / emotional / spiritual 'stress' in the air at the moment, I just wanted to post this diagram up now, so you can try this at home and see if it helps.
The points marked on the palm (above) indicate the body's main glands in relation to the endocrine system. These are the parts of the body that get most fried-out and disrupted by geomagnetic storms, coronal mass ejections and space weather. When this stuff gets out of balance, all sorts of strange emotional states and physical issues can occur, and believe it or not, seed therapy can help us get through these tough times, and help us maintain more balance mentally and physically.
TRY THIS TONIGHT:
Get some clear adhesive tape from the pharmacy (that's designed to stick to skin). You can use plasters if you want, but it won't be as easy to work it out.
Then, take a WHOLE red lentil (split ones won't work) and stick a lentil on each of the spots marked on this diagram, before you go to sleep.
Make a note of any weird aches or pains you have right now, or any other strange emotional states and / or physical symptoms, and then see how you feel when you wake up tomorrow morning.
There's a lot more to say about SuJok - and you can read more about it HERE, in the meantime. But try this, and if it works for you, please drop me a quick note in the comments section.
Ok, so in the last post we set out SOME of the mounds of evidence showing that human beings are electrical. Let's just recap some of the main points:
HOW SOLAR ACTIVITY CAN PROFOUNDLY AFFECT MENTAL HEALTH
The body’s DC currents, and the electromagnetic fields that are associated with them, are both affected by external currents and fields, too.
Every living thing is meant to be directly plugged into - and affected by - the electromagnetic fields of the earth. In turn, the earth’s electromagnetic field is directly affected by the celestial bodies, particularly the sun and the moon.
In 1961, Robert Becker and leading psychologist Howard Friedman collaborated on a project to start exploring how the disturbances in the earth’s field caused by solar storms and flares on the sun could be affecting human mental health.
The duo compared 28,000 admissions of patients to the psychiatric wards of eight different hospitals over a period of four years, and then looked to see if there was any correlation with the 67 solar storms that had occurred over that same period of time. There was. Becker writes:
“Significantly more persons were signed in to the psychiatric services just after magnetic disturbances than when the field was stable.”
Becker and Friedman also explored how solar storms, and more particularly, cosmic rays, might be affecting patients who were already hospitalized for mental disturbances, including a group of 12 schizophrenics. Low-energy cosmic rays and known to produce strong disruptions in the earth’s field [check what field] one or two days’ later.
They found that the behavior of almost all their subjects changed at this time, in concert with big changes to the earth’s field.
In 1967, Becker and Friedman continued their experiments, and found that abnormal magnetic fields produce abnormal responses in both humans and animals.
THE EARTH’S FIELD CONTROLS THE HUMAN DC SYSTEM - AND BY EXTENSION, PROFOUNDLY EFFECTS HUMAN HEALTH, TOO
Frank Brown at Northwestern university and Rutger Wever and the Max Planck Institute in Munich did the pioneering experiments that proved just what an enormous impact the earth’s field has on the DC system in all living creatures.
Brown’s experiments with oysters, and then later with the mud snail called Nassarius conclusively proved that the regulation of living creatures’ biocycles depended on the earth’s magnetic field - even though the earth’s magnetic field is tiny, averaging 0.17 gauss in Evanston, the town in the US where Brown undertook his experiments.
Despite the hostile reception that his work received, Brown continued his research, and found magnetically-driven bio-cycles in all the other creatures he tested, ranging from fruit flies, to mice, all the way up to human beings.
To give some idea of just how important this link is, our hormone output and the number of lymphocytes in the bloodstream vary according to the earth’s field. Another crucially important biological process that’s directly affected by this field is the time it takes a human cell to divide.
When a human cell divides, the cell’s chromosomes first appear and line up, before splitting in half. Half the chromosomes are evenly distributed to the new cell, and half remain behind. This part of the process takes a few minutes, but the duplication of all the cell’s DNA (which precedes this big ‘split’) takes a day.
To quote Becker: “All growth and repair, which depend on regulated cell division, is synchronized with the earth’s field.”
WEVER DISCOVERS THE ‘VIBRATION OF CREATION’
After Brown, Rutger Wever did a number of experiments using two specially-built underground isolation rooms that shielded the human volunteers participating in his study from external stimuli.
Wever found that when people could still connect to the earth’s field, their biological rhythm broadly continued around the 24 hour cycle. But when people were prevented from connecting to the earth’s field, they completely lost their circadian rhythm, throwing all their biological systems into disarray.
When Wever introduced various fields into his isolated room, he found that a tiny electric field that measured 0.025 volts per centimeter, and that was pulsed at 10 cycles per second (10 hertz) restored nearly all biocycles.
He concluded that this must be the frequency in the earth’s micropulsations that regulated the body’s biological cycles.
In the next post, we'll learn more about this 'Vibration of Creation', and how it could help to shed some light on the physical processes involved in how God actually created living creatures on the planet.
Meridians are the bodies electro-magnetic 'energy pathways', and the body uses them to signal a whole bunch of stuff, including hormonal changes, biochemicals, gene expression (RNA) and emotional states and moods, to list just a few.
(I write about all these things in much more detail in my books Talk to God and Fix Your Health, and How your emotions are making you sick, both of which can be downloaded for FREE from the Store page. If you're a member of the spiritual self-help website, you can also access a full, FREE guide to how to trace your meridians from the Resources page.)
There's a lot of 'bio-electrical stressors' in our modern world, including i-Phones, wifi, FM radio, microwaves, power lines, military communications networks, airfields and also, the earth's atmosphere itself, which is electrically-charged and deeply affected by things like solar storms and solar flares.
So, as well as the body's bio-electrical grid of meridians being stressed / overcharged / blocked / weakened by internal factors like stress, negative emotions, lack of sleep and bad diet (to name but a few) it can also get fried-out by these external bio-electrical stressors, too.
And that is definitely happen at the moment!
To give but one example: A couple of days ago, I got severely 'zapped' by my damp laundry as I was taking it out of the washing machine. The static electricity had built up to such a high level, it discharged a 'shock' that was actually pretty painful.
Here's the thing: I'm much more susceptible to attracting these discharges of static electricity than the other people in my house, presumbably because my body's bio-electricity is more out of whack at the moment. (I'm currently researching this angle, to try to get a definitive answer of how static electricity and the body's bio-electricity interplay, so this part is still guesswork at the moment).
In the same way I can get 'zapped' by my washing, I can also disrupt computers and mobile phones, and again, that tends to happen much more when I'm feeling under the weather etc.
I HAVE been feeling pretty stressed-out and fatigued again recently, so there are two things going on here:
1) There is more static electricity build-up in the external environment at the moment
2) My 'bio-electric- grid (i.e. the meridians) are not functioning as well as they could be.
I can't really do anything about the external environment, so I have to try to manage the problem my end, by strengthening the meridians - and that's where the following videos comes in!
If you'd like to see a man tracing the meridians very slowly, please go to this LINK.
If you'd like to see a woman tracing the meridians, please go to this LINK.
There's a ton more stuff about the meridians here on the spiritual self-help website. If you pop in 'meridians' in the search box, it will bring up many more useful resources.
And in the meantime, get tracing!
The washing waits for no-one.
The last few days, since the beginning of the Jewish New Year, I haven’t been feeling so hot. You can read more about that HERE, but after pondering on what’s going on I’ve come to the conclusion that the ‘vibe’ of the planet - or to put it in more spiritual terms, the Divine light that God is sending down to us 24/7 - has speeded up, or cranked up in someway, and my body is having some problems adjusting to it all.
People are energy - souls covered by an energetic mass that’s vibrating at a slower pace, to give it the illusion of being solid matter. That’s not new-age mumbo jumbo, that’s quantum physics.
God sustains every single cell, every single atom, by maintaining it in perpetual motion. Some people call this the ‘electric charge’ associated with every single atom, cell, object, all the way up to human beings. Others call it the life-force. But whatever you choose to call it, the simple fact is that we are energy in motion, and what keeps us in motion (and consequently, alive) is God.
Since the beginning of the year, I feel as though the ‘light’ God continually sends down to the planet, or energy, or shefa (the Hebrew word for bounty) or blessing, or however you want to refer to it has got so, so much stronger.
Trouble is, if the vessel - i.e. the body - hasn’t been cleaned out enough to receive this extra input, it can cause all sorts of problems, physically and mentally. What cleans out the body? There’s a few things, but it basically boils down to this:
They cause the brain to act and react differently, leading to all sorts of mental issues, personality disorders and suicidal tendencies (amongst many other things.)
So if the body is full of negative emotions and bad character traits, that means that energetically-speaking, the body’s electric circuits aren’t functioning properly. If the amount of ‘charge’ coming down from God then gets amped up - a person is going to start blowing circuits all over the place.
How do we clear out the bad character traits and emotions? First, we recognize that we actually have them (an enormous problem for most people…) Next, we recognize the damage they’re doing, particularly to us, but also to the people we love. Last, we ask God for help to get rid of them - which brings us to the second point, about talking to God regularly.
When you talk to God regularly, you gradually ‘up’ your body’s tolerance to Divine light and you strengthen your soul. When the soul is stronger, it can start to ‘talk down’ to the body more, and make its voice heard. It can steer the body away from the cheesecake, towards the salad bar. It can encourage the body to get a good night’s rest, instead of messing around on Facebook until 2am.
And, it can persuade the body that working on things like bad character traits and negative emotions is actually in the body’s best interests, too.
There’s an idea in Judaism that a person’s sins are literally engraved on their bones. Until we make Teshuva, the ‘bad energy’, or blockages, or problems our sins have created in the world are literally stored in the body, and are the source of our physical aches, pains, and other issues.
Once we make Teshuva, the energy ‘recombines’ into it’s proper order, the body starts to work better again and we feel so much happier and healthier and holier.
God is sending more and more light down to the world. Once I started having all the weird aches and pains the last week, I started exploring what’s going on in my personal prayer, and tried to figure out what’s underneath that pain in my hip, that bad headache, that difficulty breathing. I’ve been getting some amazing insights:
The hip is a bad character trait I ‘inherited’ from an old relative, that I really need to work on uprooting asap.
The breathing issue was connected to me still being angry at someone who hurt me a lot three years’ ago. I had to work on forgiveness, and letting go of this person with love.
The headache is my nervous system going haywire because there are huge things building up in the world. For that, I’ve had to work on my emuna, and also to sedate the bladder meridian and triple warmer meridian points, and to stick lentils in a few places to try and clear the block that’s happening there.
It’s a work in progress, and it’s probably never going to end. But each time I clean off whatever issue arises, I feel so much happier and better. A big reason why people’s bodies wear out in old age is because if we’re not cleaning the sins out of bones, and we’re just adding to them as we go along in life, sooner or later we get to a point where the body can’t cope anymore, and starts to disintegrate.
God is speeding things up right now. Work that used to take years can now take weeks or even just days and hours.
So, if you’re also feeling more tired, achey, fatigued or stressed than usual, know that it’s because your body, your vessel, is struggling to cope with the extra ‘light’ God is sending to the world. And if you don’t deal with it now, it’s only going to get worse!
As a first port of call, pick up a copy of ‘Talk to God and Fix Your Health’, read it, and then use all the ideas and techniques in that book to start clearing out your system across body, mind and soul.
Whatever else is going to happen this year, God wants us to get to work on uprooting our bad character traits and negative emotions, and the sooner you start that process, the better and healthier you’ll feel.
Stress can take shapes and forms; for some people, it’s killer deadlines at work. For other people it’s crazy relationships. And for me right now, it’s lunatic terrorists with knives who are running around trying to stab everything that moves in Jerusalem, my home town.
There’s been a whole bunch of stabbings literally a 5 minute walk from my front door, and that does get kinda stressful. This week, I was going to continue the Deeper Needs series on JEMI, but I’ve decided to bump that over to the Talk to God website instead, and you can see an in-depth post on the first deeper need, faith or belief, HERE .
Meanwhile, I wanted to share some more of my coping strategies for heavy-duty stress with you. Hopefully, people aren’t getting stabbed in your neck of the woods, but with ISIS, economic down-turns and crazy weather going on, we all need all the help we can get to deal with our stress more efficiently.
So without any further ado, let me introduce you to the Neurovasculars, and tell you how they can help you palpably de-stress in under 5 minutes.
(The following is taken from new book out next month, Talk to God and Fix Your Health: The Real Reasons Why We Get Sick and How To Stay Healthy, published by the Matronita Press.)
What your neurovasculars do
Your neurovasculars govern what happens to your blood and energy levels when you’re under stress, and they’re located all over the head, as well as behind your knees (for gallbladder) and the centre of the throat (for triple warmer).
When you hold your neurovasculars, they bring blood back to your forebrain, and away from the stress-inducing primitive brain area that’s being controlled by your Triple warmer meridian, as part of its fight-or-flight reflex.
Actively think about the thing or situation or thought that’s stressing you out, then hold the main neurovasculars gently with your finger tips (figure 1 in the diagram above).
You can also hold the main neurovascular points together with the points for other meridians, (as shown in the diagram) if you know you have a particular emotion you’re trying to work on.
You should feel some real, palpable relief within 5 minutes. You’ll know, because you’ll feel a pulse under your fingertips as the blood rushes back to your forebrain, and you can think clearly again.
(If you try this, please leave a comment and let me know how it went! I’m very happy to get feedback and to answer questions about the stuff I’m sharing here.)
In the next post, we’ll start looking at Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, which is unfortunately becoming all too common today, even if you don't live in the Middle East.
As I like to remind you every now and then, all the stuff you read on this blog has been road-tested in some way by me, in my own life, circumstances or experiences with others. I don’t write about any techniques that I don’t use myself and that I haven’t seen some significant success with.
So with intro out the way, I wanted to share a few of the ways I’ve been managing my sky-rocketing stress levels, given that I live 5 minutes from the Old City of Jerusalem, where there’s recently been a huge number of people getting stabbed by Arab terrorists.
You can split the stress reaction into 3 parts: spiritual stress, emotional stress and physical stress, and to deal with it properly, you have to tackle it across all three areas.
How to defuse spiritual stress
You already know what I’m going to suggest, don’t you? Nothing but nothing defuses spiritual stress at its source except regularly talking to God, and putting God in the picture. In practice, that means internalizing that God is behind the stabbing terrorists, and that nothing can happen to me (or my family) unless God decrees it.
On the other side of the coin, that means that if God decrees something, there is no way of running away from it (although teshuva can still work wonders at any given moment). Again practically, that means working on my acceptance that God is running the world, and that He can do whatever He wants, whenever He wants, to whoever He wants – and it’s good.
If that sounds like a tall order to manage, you’re right. It’s next to impossible to really internalize all these things without regular talking to God sessions. Every time I get hit with heavy-duty stress, I up my personal prayer. Often, I feel immediately better afterwards, but even on the rare occasions I don’t, the stressful situation, or my overwhelmed response to it, seems to change and improve rapidly after talking to God.
How to defuse emotional stress
Again, I’m going to focus on practical suggestions and skip all the deeper background stuff about achieving emotional balance and strengthening the three foundations of emotional health. (If you want more details about those things, take a look at Modules 3-5 of the free Talk to God online course, HERE.)
We need to feel that the world is fundamentally a safe place to be to maintain emotional equilibrium – which can be very difficult when you’re in the middle of a mini-war zone. Here’s what helps me to do that:
Physical stress comes in many ways, shapes and forms, but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is definitely something we all need to be looking out for. PTSD occurs when you’ve been through chronic or acute stress, and some part of your primitive brain is still ‘replaying’ the stressful circumstances at a subconscious level, making you feel permanently wound-up and depleted.
PTSD symptoms include: memory loss, fuzzy brain, thinking the worse is going to happen, jumping at every little noise, inability to concentrate, difficulties sleeping, nightmares, disturbing flashbacks and disassociation, or ‘spacing out’. (If you live in Jerusalem, I guarantee you have at least 3 things on this list at the moment…)

You can find details of how to do the following techniques elsewhere on the website, (especially in the Guide to Strengthening Your Meridians, HERE) but this is what’s been helping me defuse my physical stress:
General information about Meridians
What are 'Energy Meridians?'
Energy meridians were first mapped in the human body around 3,500 years' ago by Chinese physicians, who understood that some sort of subtle energy (what we would call the soul) was animating the body.
When the energy was flowing around the body correctly, the person stayed healthy. When the energy was stuck, stagnant, weak or blocked in some way, the person would get sick.
These early practitioners of Chinese medicine mapped the energy flow around the body, and identified 14 main energy 'pathways', which they called meridians. Each meridian was named for the main organ, or physical system, it governed or regulated in the body.
They then developed the systems of acupuncture (using small needles inserted into particular points along each meridian) and acupressure (using light pressure from the fingers on certain points along each meridian) to help energy flow better, and to help release the energetic 'blocks' in the body. From the beginning, Chinese medicine recognised that the energetic blocks in the body were usually caused by the person's negative emotions.
The energy of emotions
Whenever you get sick in some way, your emotions usually contain most of the information you need to work out why that may be happening.
For example, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that eating bad food can make you ill. But when you start to work with energy meridians and the underlying emotions, the emphasis shifts away from what the person is actually eating, to finding out why the person is drawn to the bad food in the first place.
What underlying emotion is being repressed, or reacted to unconsciously, when you start reaching for the chips or the chocolate cake? That's where the meridians can really help you to work out what's actually going on, at a profound deep level.
How to use meridians to identify the underlying issues
There are two main ways that you can use meridians to start to build up a more complete picture of your mental and physical health, and how the two are affecting, and affected by, each other:
1) Work back from an existing physical problem or issue
Below, you'll find a JEMI Quick Reference tool that will links particular physical issues to particular meridians. If you already know that you have a physical problem, or a physical weakness in a particular area of your body, you can go straight to the relevant meridian, and see what emotions may be hidden underneath. For example, one-sided migraine headaches, sciatica or gallbladder issues all suggest that something is blocking the gallbladder meridian. The negative emotions that are connected to the gallbladder meridian include anger (at other people), judgementalness and rage.
(This online Guide is dealing with physical ways to unblock the body's energy, and to get negative emotions out of your system. But this is only one part of JEMI's God-based holistic health approach. The other two parts involve:
1) boosting your GodJuice and spiritual connection; and
2) using a number of different tools that work directly at the mental and emotional level.
For more information on how to implement the full mind, body and soul approach to your physical or emotional issue, click HERE to check out JEMI's free online course called 'Talk to God and Fix Your Health'.)
Quick Reference Table: Meridians and their associated physical issues
(click the link, to access the PDF)
Once you know which negative emotional state could be causing your physical illness, the road to real, lasting recovery starts to get much clearer: Deal with the underlying emotion, and nine times out of ten, the physical problem will resolve without any further intervention.
2) Identify the negative emotion, and then associate it with a meridian
If you already know that you have a particular negative emotion or emotional issue that you want to work on, then the second route is to find out what particular energy meridian that emotion is associated with.
Again, JEMI's done the hard work for you, and put together the following Quick Reference tool that shows you which meridians are associated with each main negative emotion,
Meridians and emotions - a quick reference tool (click the link to access the PDF)

For the fat to really stay off, people have to know WHAT EMOTIONS ARE DRIVING THE OVEREATING in the first place.
• What's making them so stressed, and why?
• What's making them feel anxious, and why?
• What emotion is underneath the compulsive eating?
This could easily take you 5 years in therapy and thousands of bucks to work out, but I'm going to share my short-cut ideas with you now, and you can find out more about what's really making you tick, emotionally, by doing JEMI's free ‘Talk to God and Fix Your Health’ course.
The emotions that usually underpin overeating include:
• Repressed anger (especially at a parent)
• Beating yourself up (which is why if you really want to lose weight, you need to go easy on yourself, and stop having a go at yourself for eating the second helping of dessert. Instead, practise self-compassion, forgive yourself, and immediately move on.)
• Loneliness - food is our friend, it gives us something to do (a lot of people start smoking for the same reason)
• Sadness and depression (again, usually linked to spending too much time with negative, selfish, uncaring people who pretend to be 'there' for us, but who really aren't).
• Anxiety - which tends to pop up whenever people don't know what's coming next, and the 'bad' is freely mixed in with the 'good' again, especially when it comes to close relationships.
• Feeling empty, and / or like life's meaningless. That empty feeling is characteristic of people who've got disconnected from their soul in someway, and are now trying to fill the spiritual lack with material stuff, ie, food.
So to sum up, the main factors that are keeping people from slimming down are:
1) An impaired ability to digest and metabolise their food, energetically, because they have weak spleen meridian and / or an over-reactive Triple Warmer. These energy systems can conspire to 'keep a person fat', regardless of how much effort they make to lose the weight.
The good news is, these energy systems can be reprogrammed using easy, self-applied Energy Medicine techniques as set out in Donna Eden's book, 'Energy Medicine for Women', or in free JEMI guide to working with your energy meridians.
2) A bunch of repressed negative emotions that are actually triggering the impulse to eat.
Once these negative emotions, and what's causing them, have been identified and acknowledged (which is often really hard work, and not done in 5 minutes), THEN and only then, can the person start to really choose against their impulse to overeat.
If there is one emotion that will have anyone reaching for the chocolate cake, it's BEATING YOURSELF UP.
So be nice to yourself under all circumstances, forgive yourself for any food 'indulgences', and keep looking for the good in yourself (and staying away from nasty, critical, angry, blaming people…) if you want to really lose weight and keep it off.
Good luck to everyone out there who's trying to slim down; you WILL get there in the end, but the key is to know that it's really not anywhere as much in your control of what you want to eat, and why, as many people think.
Can BDP be cured? - The Mainstream Mental Health View
Here's where the mainstream mental health view, and the holistic God-based view of how to treat personality disorders like BDP differ radically.
Mainstream secular science says broadly: no, but with one possible exception: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), that's apparently had some notable success for treating BPD, and is being touted as a 'breakthrough'.
See THIS ARTICLE for more information and success stories about DBT.
Why I like DBT:
If you're going to go the Godless therapy route, DBT seems like your best bet by a long way, for the following reasons:
Can BDP be cured? The God-based holistic health view
The God-based holistic health view for all illnesses, physical, mental or emotional, is that when God's in the picture, anything is possible.
This applies to terminal illnesses; chronic physical illnesses where the doctors have given up on finding a cure, or ameliorating the patient's condition; and especially for mental illnesses like personality disorders, which have a huge spiritual component to them that isn't usually even recognised by mainstream therapy and conventional medicine.
(I joked that I was writing a book on this subject, and I'm realizing that I've already half done it, in this post. So for the sake of brevity, I'm going to try to sum up the next points succinctly, and send you to other articles and references for further reading.)
In order to 'cure' BDP, you first have to have a full and honest assessment of the problem. Let's see if we can go back to the 9 criteria set out in the DSM for diagnosing BPD, and see how a God-based holistic approach could help to tackle each aspect of the problem.
RECAP: APA Diagnostic Criteria:
A pervasive pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects, and marked impulsivity beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
1) Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in criterion 5.
2) A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships, characterised by alternating between extremes of idealisation and devaluation.
3) Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self.
4) Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (eg, spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating). Note: Do not include suicidal or self-mutilating behaviour covered in criterion 5.
5) Recurrent suicidal behaviour, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behaviour.
6) Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (eg, intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours, and only rarely more than a few days.)
7) Chronic feelings of emptiness.
8) Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (eg, frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights.)
9) Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms.
The essential feature of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a pervasive pattern of instability or interpersonal relationships, self-image and affects, and marked impulsivity that begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts.
A STRONG CONNECTION TO GOD AND WORKING ON THE SPIRITUAL ASPECTS OF THE PROBLEM WOULD HELP TO RESOLVE THE FOLLOWING:
1) EFFORTS TO AVOID ABANDONMENT - when you've got God to fall back on, to talk to, to rely on for comfort, you feel hugely less lonely even when you're completely alone. Which means you get much less desperate for 'people' to fill the loneliness gap.
5) RECURRENT SUICIDAL BEHAVIOUR - As mentioned earlier, BPD have had their fair share of suffering, and experience it much more deeply than others. Knowing that life, and even suffering, is purposeful and meaningful makes it much easier to deal with and cope with, and reduces the likelihood that a person will fall into despair and seek to kill themselves. When God's in the picture, there's always hope, because even if we ourselves can't 'fix' the problems we face (and that's a recurring theme for BPD people who are frequently overwhelmed by their life) - God can. And that thought is profoundly reassuring.
7) CHRONIC FEELINGS OF EMPTINESS - as explained above, this stems from existential angst, loneliness and a spiritual 'depth' and need for meaning in life that is felt much more strongly by people with BPD tendencies.
GENERALLY: God can help with all of the above, but first you need to ask Him to get involved. How? Talk to Him, and tell Him what's going on, and what you need, and why it hurts, and how you're really feeling.
For more details on how to do this, you can get a free e-copy of my pocket guide called: 'The How, What and Why of Talking to God' here:www.talktogod.today/ebook
WORKING ON STRENGTHENING AND BALANCING THE THREE FOUNDATIONS OF EMOTIONAL HEALTH (OR DBT) WOULD HELP TO RESOLVE THE FOLLOWING:
2) UNSTABLE AND INTENSE INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS WHERE YOU FLIP BETWEEN LOVING OR HATING PEOPLE - All three foundations come into play here, but particularly Healthy Compassion, where you learn how to empathise more with the other person's point of view, and see things a little less black-and-white.
3) IDENTITY DISTURBANCE - Particularly focussing on the area of Appropriate Kindnesses, which teaches you to differentiate between WANT and SHOULD, and helps you to develop your own free choice about what YOU really want and believe.
4) IMPULSIVITY - Particularly focussing on the area of Sensible Accountability, which encourages you to recognise behaviours that are destructive, without letting yourself off the hook (and consequently ignoring the consequences of your behaviour), OR excessively beating yourself up over it (which guarantees that you'll repeat the behaviour again in the future - more on this in the energy section, below.)
6) AFFECTIVE INSTABILITY - Working across all three foundations of emotional health, to work out they underlying reasons WHY you are being triggered, WHO is contributing to the problem, and WHAT you are telling yourself subconsciously, that you then react to emotionally without being aware of what's really going on.
(NB: Talking to God can also help with all these issues, too, especially if you start to feel scared, overwhelmed, despairing or stuck.)
WORKING ON THE ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY / BODY / ENERGY MERIDIAN ASPECTS OF THE PROBLEM WOULD HELP TO RESOLVE THE FOLLOWING:
8) INAPPROPRIATE, INTENSE ANGER: This can't be done in a vacuum. You also have to work out WHO you're angry at, and why, and that's where the 'Talk to God and Fix Your Health' stuff comes in.
But to sum up a very long story in a nutshell, Borderline Personality Disorder people have an over-reactive Triple Warmer energy meridian, which is the meridian responsible for the 'fight-flight-or freeze' response.
Fight = you get angry.
Flight = you run away (or 'disassociate')
Freeze = when you don't do either fight or flight, sending your energy system into internal paralysis.
The more you can do to calm down Triple Warmer, the less reactive and angry you'll feel, and the easier it will be to keep your emotions in check.
See this article for more information about the Triple Warmer, and how it's affecting your mental and emotional health.
Again, let me state again that trauma, and PTSD, keeps Triple Warmer permanently switched 'on', and keep you permanently on edge and ready to tip over into fight-flight-or freeze.
But Meridian-based Energy Psychology techniques like EFT (tapping) and TAT can defuse PTSD and take the trauma out of your system very fast.
For more information about Energy Psychology and how it actually works, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this book:
The Promise of Energy Psychology
For more general information about the body's 9 energy systems, including energy meridians, I highly recommend you read this book:
Energy Medicine, Donna Eden
You can also find a whole bunch of free resources about how energy meridians are connected to emotions, and how to work with them yourself using easy acupressure techniques in the 'Body' section of the Knowledge Base section of the JEMI website.
9) PARANOIA, STRESS AND DISASSOCIATION
A lot of what I've written for number 8, above, also applies to this, with another addition, namely:
Holding the Neurovasculars.
The Neurovasculars govern what happens to blood and energy under stress. As well as being all over the head, they are also behind the knees, and in the centre of the throat.
Each neurovascular point is associated with a different meridian and its associated emotion). Gently holding the neurovasculars with the finger tips is a simple, but powerfully effective tool for lessening emotional intensity, and removing the 'charge' from negative emotional reactions.
Why this is particularly relevant to BPD people is that regularly holding the neurovasculars brings blood back to the frontal lobe, that regulates the emotional response.
To put it another way, it calms down the fight-flight-freeze response, and enables you to think instead of react.
You can find more information about holding the neurovasculars here, and also on the JEMI website, here.
PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER
By working across body, mind and soul, you can utilise a number of techniques to tackle BPD multilaterally, and every improvement you get in one area will automatically lead to further improvements in other areas.
I could carrying on writing about BPD for hours (clearly…) but I'm going to stop here and invite you to get in touch if you have any comments or questions. I'm figuring out a lot of this stuff as I go along, and I want to invite you to join me in this journey of discovery, and of looking at different ways to understand and overcome things like Borderline Personality Disorder.
Let me leave you with this: Don't despair! God loves you unconditionally, and He can help you to turnaround even the more dire circumstances, and most difficult problems.
Yes, BPD is a huge challenge, but by adopting a God-based holistic health approach, I believe you can see some dramatic improvements in your quality of life and outlook, and much faster than you might believe is possible.
From the spiritual perspective, mental health issues usually come about because a person's soul is too big for the body it's been squished into.
Let that thought give you some comfort, and also, a lot of hope.
